Microcarriers provide a large number of adherent surfaces for cells, which can be used in suspension culture systems or to increase production in monolayer culture containers and tanks. The application of microcarrier technology includes the production of a large number of cells, viruses and recombinant cell products (such as interferon, enzyme, nucleic acid and hormone), research on cell adhesion, differentiation, cell function, perfusion culture system, microscopic research, harvesting of Mitosis cells, cell separation, membrane research, cell storage and transportation which includes the determination of cell transfer and the uptake of marker compounds.
