Shell series
Shell series
The first choice for purifying viral vaccines
Rigose Shell 700, Rigose Shell 400, Purose Shell V30 and Purose Shell V15 are multimodal resins which are used for purification of virus, plasmid DNA and other large molecules. The beads of the resins are made of inactive shell and ligand‐activated core. All these resins exclude large molecules (like virus, plasmid DNA, VLPs, etc.) from entering the inactive shell. But small molecules (like BSA, ovalbumin, HCP, DNA fragments, endotoxin, etc.) can enter the pores of the beads and bind to the internalized ligands. The ligand is also a multimodal ligand which owns hydrophobic and positively charged binding ability. Due to the unique separation mechanism of these media, productivity can be significantly improved compared with GFC. They are widely used in the one-step purification of large size totivirus such as COVID-19 novel coronavirus, influenza virus, adenovirus, rotavirus, herpes zoster virus, rabies virus, porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus, pseudorabies virus, avian influenza virus, etc.
Main characteristics
• The size average cut-off: ~700 kDa for Rigose Shell 700, ~400 kDa for Rigose Shell 400, Rigose Shell series is more suitable for the production of human biological drugs
• The size average cut-off: ~30 nm for Purose Shell V30, ~15 nm for Purose Shell V15, Purose Shell series is more suitable for the production of veterinary biological drugs
Unique bead structure, composed of inactive shell and ligand‐activated core
High binding capacity, up to 100‐fold higher sample load than traditional GFC Reduce equipment, site, buffer, time and labor costs compare with traditional GFC Suitable for process scale.
